Un nouvel enregistrement de musiques de Georges Delerue arrangées par Robert Lafond au moyen de la technique d'échantillonnage numérique d'instruments acoustiques. L'approche est ici résolument classique, avec notamment plusieurs pièces pour piano et grand orchestre. La plupart des thèmes présentés sur cette compilation sont extraits de films américains et britanniques produits dans les dix dernières années de la vie du compositeur. Tous figurent pour la première fois sur disque. Livret de 12 pages.

Un disque surprenant et malicieux, qui permet de rassembler un peu plus les pièces du puzzle de l'oeuvre immensément riche du musicien. The Unpublished Film Music of Georges Delerue ou quand la technique et les talents d'un arrangeur se mettent au service de la résurrection musicale d'un grand compositeur.

While the cues on this album may stray from the original Delerue orchestrations, they do preserve and showcase the glorious themes, which undoubtedly would have remained lost. Although the album is based upon digital sampling techniques there are few cues where this is overtly apparent and then, it is not really detrimental to the wonderful listening pleasure that this album supplies. This album must have been a monumental effort to produce, but was conspicuously worth it and it is to be hoped there will be at least a second volume. For those that love Georges Delerue or those that enjoy their scores with a classical flavour, this album is a must.
