YOKO SAWAI, PATRICK HEALEY, GUILLAUME
SAUCIER


Cellist Guillaume Saucier obtained his Bachelor of music from McGill University with Walter Joachim, and then an Artist Diploma with great distinction with Antonio Lisy. He completed his master's degree at the Université de Montréal under the direction of Yuli Turowsky, and then continued his training for a further three years with Harvey Shapiro of the Julliard School in New York. Guillaume Saucier has played with the Metropolitan Orchestra of Greater Montreal for eleven years. Very active on the chamber music scene, he is a founding member of the Ville-Marie Trio and plays in the Apassionata Ensemble. In addition to his activities as an instrumentalist, Guillaume Saucier teaches at several schools in the Montreal area.


Pianist Yoko Sawai has a master's degree from the Université de Montréal, where she studied with Marc Durand and Natalie Pepin. She moved to Europe to complete her training under the direction of Monique Deschaussées in Paris, Nicklas Schmidt in Hamburg and Gert Von Bülow of the Musikhochschule in Rostock. Praised for her virtuoso and expressive playing, she has received many scholarships and awards. She has performed in concert as a soloist, chamber music player and accompanist, in Canada, France, Germany and Switzerland. Yoko Sawai is a founding member of the Serendipity Trio and she has also played with the Ville-Marie Trio. With Patrick Healey, Guillaume Saucier and Élaine Pelletier, she is now a member of the Ensemble En-le-vent. She now gives private piano lessons using the Suzuki method, after having taught for two years at the McGill University Conservatory.


Awarded Premier Prix de flûte à l'unanimité from the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal and first prize at the National Music Festival of Canada, Patrick Healey has received a Diplôme d'études supérieures spécialisées en formation d'orchestre from the Université de Montréal, where he also completed a doctorate in piccolo. He has performed with many important orchestras in Canada including the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, the Quebec Symphony Orchestra and the Metropolitan Orchestra of Greater Montreal. In 1996, Patrick Healey founded two chamber groups : the Ensemble En-le-vent with Yoko Sawai on piano, Élaine Pelletier on clarinet and Guillaume Saucier on cello, and the Duo Piazzolla with Isabelle Héroux.
