SERGE FRANKLIN
In the sixties, Serge Franklin gained experience as author-composer and interpreter at the Bobino theatre in Paris before becoming a virtuoso sitar player. A great traveller and collector of exotic instruments, he became familiar with the traditional music of many countries. He started composing incidental music for the stage with the Renaud-Barrault Company. Years later, he gained attention in the movie world thanks to his collaborations with director Alexandre Arcady. Offers from television soon followed and he ended up working nearly exclusively for this medium. As a result of his focus on television, only a small number of original soundtracks by Serge Franklin have been released on disc during his thirty-year career.
